Pre-Pharmacy Requirements

Students wishing to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree through Xavier’s College of Pharmacy must complete 64 credit hours of pre-requisite courses (see table below) prior to being admitted to the Pharm.D. program. The pre-pharmacy requirements may be completed at Xavier University or any accredited university.

The College of Pharmacy will use each grade (including Ds and Fs) received in any of the pre-requisite course work to calculate the cumulative and the math-science grade point average. For example, if a student receives a “D” and an “A” in an Organic Chemistry course, then both grades will be used to calculate the cumulative and math-science grade point average.

All of the pre-requisite course work must be completed on or before August 2, 2016. Any student who has more than seven (7) hours of course work to complete at the end of the Spring semester will need to obtain approval to take these courses from the College of Pharmacy.

NOTE: Students required to enroll in the COP's Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) MUST attend the Pharmacy Pre-Matriculation Summer Program (PPMSP) scheduled the month of July. Therefore, PPMSP participants may take only approved online courses during this time to satisfy pre-requisite requirements."
