HVAC Restoration – NCF and Xavier South
The scope of this project included replacing the rooftop mechanical equipment at the old science building with new equipment, constructing a new penthouse enclosure atop the existing roof, and the phasing from existing equipment to the new equipment.
We constructed a new penthouse on the roof of the NCF Academic Science Complex. It was necessary in order to replace the building’s outdated mechanical equipment, making it conducive to the building’s current energy usage. New supports, including a concrete base, were fabricated and installed to accommodate the new mechanical equipment. This was completed in October 2008
The piping at Xavier South became outdated and difficult to find parts that fit the system. We corrected the HVAC problem by removing equipment, changing louvers, installing coils for air handling units, installing zoning controls, replacing steel support joints, changing chill water pumps, adding new condensers, installing four new motors, and replacing chillers. This was completed in February 2004.
