Why do I get a 404 Page Error?
Pages sometimes move around on the webserver causing errors when viewing the site. Sometimes, in programming the page, typos can be made causing the same types of errors. Please notify the Webmaster of any of these errors so they can be fixed, and include the URL of the page with the bad link.
Why are the images appearing as broken links?
Images will appear broken, and not show up at all, because a file has been relocated or misspelled. Please notify the Webmaster of any of these errors so they can be fixed, and include the name of the page with the bad image link.
Who do I notify about missing webpages or broken links?
If there are changes in your site, or reasons to involve the University Web Developer for updates, fixes, or site checks, please notify the Webmaster.
What is a Cache?
A Cache stores information about the pages recently visited. Depending on your cache settings, you may be viewing an older version of the page instead of the most recent version of the page. If this happens, try quitting the browser and revisiting the page, or clear the cache of all files to view the newest version.
What is a Proxy Server?
A proxy server is a network server which is designed to improve performance by reducing the number of connections. When a proxy server, such as the one we use for dial up, becomes overloaded with users, performance will decrease. In this case, try using the dial up service at a time when it is less busy (late nights, early mornings)
