CHINA VISIT

XU Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Loren Blanchard, makes some new friends at the Qinhuangdao Experimental High School in China. He was part of a delegation of administrators who visited China recently as part of the process to establish a Confucius Institute at Xavier with its Chinese partner institution, Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology in Qinhuangdao City.

soar SUMMER PROGRAMS

Participants in this summer’s SOAR 1 take a break from activities in the Chemistry Department's PREM program to pose for a group photo in the NCF Science Annex Lobby. XU’s 17 pre-college summer programs attracted more than 700 students to the campus between them.

 Xavier’s contribution to the medical profession includes five physicians currently adding to their training, education, and professional experience at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. They are (from left): Dr. Kenneth Richmond ’01, a resident in psychiatry; Dr. Faith Rowland ’05, a resident in psychiatry; Dr. Tiffani Johnson ’02, a Fellow in pediatrics; Dr. Ebony Hoskins ’98, graduating Fellow in gynecological oncology; and Dr. Darrell Rubin ’97, a Ph.D. Fellow in cardiology.
