GRE Prep Workshop
CURGO is offfering an eight-week GRE Prep Workshop beginning Saturday, Jan. 27, with classes being held on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Cost is $150 for XULA students, $200 for faculty/staff and alumni, and $250 for all others. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 26. Visit HERE for more info.


Students aspiring to campus leadership positions or those current leaders looking to further hone their skills should attend the Center for Student and Leadership's spring XU L.E.A.D.S (Leadership Education And Development Skills) program. Study Abroad Ambassador Panel & Fair

Summer in Costa Rica
The University is offering students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the language and culture of Costa Rica this summer while taking degree-credit Spanish courses and participating in clinical practicums in area clinics and hospitals. The course, Spanish for Medical Personnel, runs May 20 to June 16. Visit HERE for more info. 


Scholarship Opportunity for Sophomore Pre-med Students
Sophomore pre-med students may qualify for a new scholarship made available through the Pua Foundation. There will be five $20,000 scholarships awarded for the junior year, which will be renewable for the senior year. A portion of the award is a stipend. International Honor Society in Philosophy
The Philosophy Honor Society, Phi Sigma Tau, offers eligible students the distinction of membership, a network of over 200 chapters internationally, a forum to interact with other students interested in philosophy, the opportunity to publish in the society’s journal and present papers at its conferences, and receipt of the society’s publications including its careers bulletin.  For more info and spring '18 membership, contact Dr. Thora Bayer, Dept. of Philosophy,  at by Friday, Feb. 02.

Dr. Laura Biagi / DePaul University Theatre School Workshops
Dr. Laura Biagi of DePaul University Theatre School will be on campus Thursday, Feb. 01, to conduct two exciting workshops utilizing contemplative and performance techniques. At 12:15 p.m. in LRC 532B she will lead a workshop for faculty on the vital role that diversity plays in U.S. academic communities. XULAneXUS Submissions Now Being Accepted
Students are encouraged to submit their work for the next issue of XULAneXUS, Xavier's online undergraduate research journal, which will publish in April 2018. Submission deadline is Monday, Feb. 19. Campus Ministry Baby Bottle Campaign
Campus Ministry urges Xavierties to support the Woman's New Life Center by participating in its Baby Bottle Campaign. Pick up a bottle at the end of campus Mass Sunday, Jan. 21, or in the Administration Building (Room 101) and return the week of  Jan. 28- Feb. 04 filled with pennies, dollar bills, or a check payable to the Woman's New Life Center. AED Premed Honor Society Interest Meeting

Freshman Premed Meeting #14
Freshman Premed Biomedical Honor Corps Meeting #14 will be held Monday, Jan. 22, at 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. (attend either session) in NCF 105. Please bring a pen with you to the meeting. All freshman and new transfer premeds are encouraged to attend all group and individual premed meetings planned for 2017-18 (schedule for spring 2018 is available HERE). If you are unable to attend any premed meetings, please stop by the Premedical Office (NCF 108) to make them up.

Sophomore Premed Assessment Meetings
Students who will be applying to medical, dental, etc. school in 2019 for entry in 2020 should sign-up for and complete the One-on-One Sophomore Premed Assessment Meeting in the Premedical Office. The sign-up list and required meeting documents are available in the Premedical Office (NCF 108). Detailed instructions have been sent via email. Academic progress, AED Premed Honor Society membership, and early medical school acceptance program eligibility will be discussed. Go HERE to see what Sophomore Premeds should be doing this semester. The weekly eBulletin has been designated by the University Administration as THE official vehicle for communicating non-urgent announcements and info to XU faculty, staff, and students. It is usually distributed before noon each Friday, covering the upcoming week (Sunday-Sunday). If you have an announcement or info about a campus event that you wish to submit for inclusion, please send it to or Deadline for all submissions is 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
