  • What is BOOST?

Building Optimum Outcomes Skills Training is the first meeting for new first-time freshman who enter Xavier needing developmental courses.  The BOOST Workshop is designed provide students in the Student Success Academy (SSA) the opportunity to meet in a group setting with their SSA Mentor.  Students are provided with pertinent information on proven strategies that will lead to success in the freshman year.

  • When is BOOST?

BOOST is held once in the fall semester (after registration) and once in the spring semester (after registration)

  • Where is BOOST held?

BOOST is held in the University Center’s Ballroom

  • Why do students need to attend BOOST?

Students need attend BOOST for several reasons:

    •  Students will have an opportunity to meet informally with their Freshman Seminar Instructor who serves as the student’s mentor and who are dedicated to the student’s success.
    •  Students will have an opportunity to meet staff in the Student Academic Success Office (SASO) who is dedicated to helping students transition from high school to college.
