Racism, environmental racism is killing people of color. The effects of environmental racism have amplified existing inequities and the impacts of COVID-19 in Black communities. This panel will highlight the issues of environmental injustice for Black and marginalized communities. These injustices, which impact health and wellbeing and increase mortality rates, have been exacerbated by effects of COVID-19.
Join us for this discussion with a panel of environmental justice advocates and organizers as we consider the relationship between race and place in a pandemic and other disasters. Moderators Tynesia Fields and Dr. David Robinson-Morris will guide the conversation to raise these issues anew, to dialogue about their impact on marginalized communities, and galvanize support to make environmental justice a reality.
