Dr. Amy Thierry completed her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from LSU - Baton Rouge and a MPH in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences from the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Dr. Thierry earned her PhD in Biobehavioral Health with a minor in Demography from the Pennsylvania State University and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Duke University Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development.
With expertise in quantitative analysis of national survey and biomarker data, Dr. Thierry's research focuses on understanding how social inequality via chronic stress pathways drives population-level disparities in chronic disease, physical disability, and cognitive impairment in Black and Hispanic older adults. Dr. Thierry teaches in the MPH in Health Equity program.
