Dr. Marian Okon is an experienced public health specialist and educator with over 10 years of practice, both locally and internationally, in academic, research and healthcare settings. She is a passionate science educator, with an excellent knowledge of various public health and health informatics curriculum for healthcare professional, school administrators, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr. Okon’s research focus is examining the influence of environment, socioeconomic determinants, and other underlying mechanisms leading to differences in health outcomes, thereby reducing the unequal burdens of morbidity and mortality among minority populations, especially in the realm of cardiometabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
