Professor Miranda Myles Jackson is our new Assistant Professor of Digital Design. Prof. Jackson holds both her terminal MFA in Graphic Design from Liberty University and her MA in Communications with an emphasis in Digital Multimedia Studies from Lindenwood University.
An experienced Graphic Designer, she has owned her own design studio for 15 years, consulting and creating commercial design work for small to mid-size businesses. She has also taught design in higher education for over 10 years. Her work specializes in brand identity design, marketing materials, digital collateral, interface design, and product photography.
Her personal design work and photography have been exhibited at the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art as well as multiple university galleries. Professor Jackson is also a published author with her MFA graduate thesis “Overcoming the Myth of the Starving Artist: An Exploration of the Fusion and Viability of a 21st Century Career in Art and Design”, published in ProQuest, currently the only digital repository available within the U.S. Library of Congress. She’s presented her research and been a guest speaker to a number of organizations both locally and nationally, including AIGA DEC (Association of Graphic Artists, Design Educators Community).
