Joseph M. LaRochelle received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Biology from Saint Anselm College and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He completed a one-year Pharmacy Practice Residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC and a Pediatric Specialty Residency at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and the University of Maryland Medical System Hospital for Children.
He is a licensed pharmacist in Louisiana and Maryland. He is involved with many professional organizations including the Phi Delta Chi Professional Fraternity, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association. He is a Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist and a fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
His research interests include pediatric pharmacy education, pediatric medication safety, and pediatric critical care. He is currently the Coleman Endowed Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Vice Chair at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy and a Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.
