A medievalist, Dr. Rotondo-McCord teaches the world history survey and courses in the ancient Mediterranean and medieval Europe, as well as Latin, various XCOR offerings, and the history of medicine. Rotondo-McCord twice received DAAD Fellowships for two-year-long research stays in Bonn, Germany. Since coming to Xavier, he has been active in developing and implementing multimedia materials for the world history survey. His articles include "Locum sepulture meae ... elegi: Property, Graves, and Sacral Power in Medieval Germany" (Viator, 1995) and "Body Snatching and Episcopal Power: Archbishop Anno II of Cologne (1056-75), Burials in St. Mary's ad gradus, and the Minority of King Henry IV" (Journal of Medieval History, 1996). He has published several reviews, and is working on book projects on property in medieval Germany and on the politics of dead bodies in antiquity and the Middle Ages.
