Dr. Nguyen is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana (Xavier) in 2012. She practiced community pharmacy in California for two years before completing her PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency. She then joins Xavier as a faculty in the College of Pharmacy. She went on to complete her ELEVATE Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Minority Serving Institutions. Dr. Nguyen provides both didactic and experiential education to pharmacy students.
Dr. Nguyen is an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at NOELA Community Health Center (FQHC). At her clinical site she works with the Hepatitis Care Team, an interprofessional care team, to provide education and management of Hepatitis B and C. On top of that, she works collaboratively with NOELA clinicians to improve patient care and disease management of chronic conditions particularly diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and obesity. Equally important, she serves as a faculty preceptor for introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences (IPPE/APPE) pharmacy students. She also serves as a mentor and preceptor for the PGY-1 Ambulatory Care Residency Program.
Dr. Nguyen serves the underserved population as she works in partnership with the Louisiana Mission of Mercy (LaMOM) to deliver quality dental care and pharmacy services. She is a member of the Louisiana Hepatitis C Coalition with a focus on improving access to Hepatitis C care and management. In addition, Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).

Dr. Nguyen’s research interests include pharmacists’ roles and interventions in chronic diseases with respect to language influence, prevention, and management of viral hepatitis, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and obesity.
