Acceptances in 2009-2010

Xavier has been a leader nationally in placing African-Americans into medical school for more than 10 years. Further, in spite of Hurricane Katrina, Xavier continues to do well as evidenced the by fact that 37 Xavier students were accepted into medical, dental, etc. school for entry in the fall of 2010. Here are the students who were accepted for entry in 2010…

• Brandon Williams (St. Augustine High, New Orleans, LA) has been accepted into LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans School of Nursing

NOTE: According to data made available by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), a total of 112 applicants who attended Xavier submitted applications to allopathic medical schools via the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) for entry in 2010. Of those applicants, 29 were accepted into medical school. The acceptance list above only includes the names of students who granted Premedical Office personnel permission to publicize their information. It should be noted that the majority of students who applied to medical school for entry in 2010 entered Xavier as new freshmen in the fall of 2006 (i.e. Xavier's first freshman class accepted following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005).
