Xavier University Cheer Coach Glenn Caston was selected as the vice president of the NAIA Cheer Coaches Association. Caston was recently named NAIA Coach of the Year.
The NAIA coaching body voted to award Caston a two-year term position shortly after he received the NAIA’s 2021-2022 Coach of the Year award. Caston also led the competitive cheer team to earn Xavier’s first-ever national championship victory in any sport in the institution’s history.
“XULA Cheer has been a trailblazer for quality cheer programming, and I’m excited to serve as the 2nd vice president of the executive committee. The work of previous committee members provides a wonderful launching point as we work to expand competitive cheer through the NAIA,” stated Caston.
“I will embrace the values of our Xavier – equity, diversity, and justice- while serving in this role. These values are a beacon of what made XULA Cheer successful, and I’m certain that the essence of these will be a guiding light in this position.”
