Biology Program Ranked No.2 in Louisiana for Veterans

Xavier University Biology Program Ranked No.2 in Louisiana by College Factual 

New Orleans LA – Xavier University of Louisiana’s biology program ranks No.2 in Louisiana and No. 62 nationwide for veterans according to a recently updated report by College Factual, a leading on-line source of college data analytics and insights.

In the report, Xavier’s biology program was ranked No. 2 in the state for offering a quality education to veterans studying biology. Only LSU was ranked higher. XULA has achieved this ranking two years in a row. The program also was ranked No. 62 out of 820 colleges and universities nationwide for military friendliness, putting it in the top 10 percent of all biology programs in the United States. XULA improved its position 86 slots over the previous year’s ranking of No. 148.

“This rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Harris McFerrin, Head of the Biology Department at Xavier. “As the largest department on campus, biology has traditionally been and continues to be a major contributor to Xavier’s success in the STEM education.”
