Three Xavier University of Louisiana graduates – Dr. Pierre Johnson, Dr. Maxime Madhere and Dr. Joseph Semien – whose book The Pulse of Perseverance and subsequent national tour have demonstrated how personal trials and tribulations can be turned into stepping stones rather than roadblocks, will be featured tomorrow, Feb. 05, on the TODAY Show.
The segment aired on WDSU-TV in New Orleans at 8:35 a.m. Portions of the segment were filmed on Xavier’s campus last week.
By sharing their personal struggles and ultimate triumphs, the three doctors are empowering and inspiring black youth to work towards their goals. But more than that, this book is redefining the portrayal of the black male. Theirs is an inspirational story of success; one that demonstrates the importance of a strong support system and academic institutions like Xavier.
