New Orleans — The Xavier University of Louisiana Board of Trustees is proud to announce that it has extended the appointment of President Reynold Verret for five years.
“Our decision was driven by President Verret’s notable accomplishments on behalf of the university over the past four years. The board fully supports him and acknowledges his success in continuing to build on the great academic legacy created by St. Katharine Drexel, the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and Dr. Norman Francis,” stated Board Chair Sonia Perez. “We look forward to a productive five years.”
President Verret will continue to lead Xavier to achieve its mission as the only Catholic and historically black college and university in the United States until 2024. This extension allows him to guide the university toward its second century of service. President Verret joined the university as its sixth President in 2015.
