Diversity Abroad seeks to support the academic success, interpersonal development, and career readiness of students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds by inspiring and supporting educators, policymakers, industry professionals, and other stakeholders in leveraging global educational programs
According to Andrew Gordon, CEO and founder of Diversity Abroad, Diversity Abroad uses the EDIIE Awards to recognize the “institutions, organizations, and individuals whose innovative work support equitable access to the benefits of global education that improve student academic success, interpersonal growth, and career readiness.”
Xavier will be recognized as the recipient of the EDIIE Award during the annual Awards Gala in the fall at the 8th Annual Diversity Abroad Conference, Amplifying Voices: Moving From Rhetoric to Systemic Change.
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Anne McCall gave a statement to the EDIIE Awards Committee for recognizing Xavier’s dedication to offering equitable access for historically underrepresented groups of students.
“By challenging students to connect with multiethnic groups and increase awareness, content knowledge, and empathic recognition of the interconnectedness and complexity of cultures in the world, Xavier’s education abroad has helped the University in educating globally competent students,” said Provost McCall.
