New Orleans - On Saturday, September 30, 2023, the office of U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) will host Service Academy Day in New Orleans on the campus of Xavier University of Louisiana. Staff from the office of U.S. Representative and Xavier alum Troy Carter (‘86) (D-LA- 02), as well as staff from the offices of Sen. Cassidy and U.S. Representative Steve Scalise (R- LA-01) will be present. The event is primarily for students and parents in the New Orleans metropolitan area, but all Louisianians are welcome to attend. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.

At Service Academy Day, representatives of the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine Academies will make presentations about their armed services branch to interested students and parents. Additionally, representatives from the Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC units attached to Tulane University will make presentations. There will also be a presentation on the Service Academy nominations process.

Students and parents will be able to ask the Academy and ROTC representatives questions after the presentations. There will also be a presentation on the Service Academy nominations process.

Service Academy Day is free and open to the public. It will be hosted in the Mary and William McCaffrey Ballroom on the third floor of Xavier’s University Center at 4955 Drexel Drive, with the main entrance at the corner of Dixon and Broadway Streets.
