Admissions Requirements for Transient Applicants
Interested in taking a course or two? Need a few classes to prepare you for Graduate or Professional School? Home for the
summer? You’ve come to the right place! Being a guest student at XULA is simple and seamless.
Students may apply as non-degree seeking students at Xavier University and, if admitted, are eligible for enrollment on a
term by term basis in the undergraduate program in the College of Arts and Sciences. Applications
must be submitted and approved through the Office of Admissions. All required documents should
be submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to the selected term.
Transient Students
Visiting Transient Students who are degree-seeking students at another institution may apply for enrollment at Xavier. Visiting students must obtain approval from their home institution for transfer credit from Xavier. Approval is dependent on verification that the student is in good academic standing.
Non-Degree Seeking Students
Special Non-Degree Seeking Students are taking courses for enrichment or other special purposes. Students in this category must be high school graduates and provide evidence that they are eligible to take college-level courses at Xavier. Students in this category may accumulate a maximum of eighteen semester hours.
Admission Requirements
Applicants interested in applying to the University as a Visiting/Guest (Transient) Student must complete and submit a Transient Student Application for Admission. Additional required documentation includes:
A non-refundable $25.00 application fee
- Check or Money Order to the Office of Admissions
- On-line payment
If currently enrolled in a college/university, a letter of Good Standing or transcript from the home institution.
If not currently enrolled you should submit a transcript from the most recent attended college/university.
Accepted students, except those taking only online coursework, are required to have health clearance prior to registration. The completed Immunization Compliance & Consent for Care Forms should be returned to the Office of Student Health Services, 1 Drexel Drive, New Orleans, LA 70125. Students not health cleared will not be permitted to register.
