Mission
The Ochsner-Xavier Institute for Health Equity and Research (OXIHER) mission is to advance knowledge to improve clinical practices and the health and well-being of our community. In partnership, we are building capacity for identifying health disparities and strategies to improve health equity in our communities.
Vision
OXIHER’s long-term vision is to improve the overall health of the state with a comprehensive strategy to enhance healthcare access, improve health equity and health outcomes. OXIHER recognizes that health inequity, whether due to race, ethnicity, gender, or low socioeconomic status, contributes to poor health and is a complex issue that requires careful investigation and novel solutions.
OXIHER initiatives will vision is to eliminate barriers to healthcare; bring resources into underserved, urban and rural communities; collaborate with partners to research and better understand health disparities; utilize technology and innovation to improve outcomes and invest in Louisiana’s next generation of healthcare providers and frontline staff.
