OUR MISSION: The campus sustainability office, XULA Green, is designed to facilitate campus and community engagement with climate change at Xavier University of Louisiana. XULA Green supports students, faculty, and staff as we work to reduce our carbon footprint and build a more equitable society by developing sustainable infrastructure, cultivating environmental stewardship, and advocating for climate justice on and around campus.
Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) recognizes the environmental, economic, and social benefits of resource efficiency, sustainability and resiliency. The establishment of a team dedicated to campus sustainability and resiliency has created avenues for Xavier University of Louisiana to organize our past and current sustainability actions and develop additional initiatives in environmental management.
XULA is a thriving academic community, positioned to engage our students and community in meaningful and sustainable initiatives. This will be achieved not only through teaching and research but through its operations. Sustainable practices at XULA involve more than simply reducing our campus carbon footprint. Rather, we strive to cultivate a robust community that supports the well-being of everyone who passes through our XULA arches and a champion for our surrounding neighbors.
