Water Bottle Refilling Stations
XULA Green is working on increasing accessibility to clean water by installing a series of water bottle refilling stations around the campus to replace all outdated fountains. These stations reduce the amount of plastic waste from water bottles and promote the waste minimization concepts of reducing and reusing. We are able to track the impact of the stations, as they record the number of plastic water bottles saved each time someone uses the fountain. There are stations in almost every academic building and in the University Center. More are added each semester and will continue until every building on campus has a station. Since we started installing these stations across campus in 2016, Xavier students, faculty, and staff have diverted over 170,000 water bottles from landfills!
